Cosby Reruns Pulled From Syndicated TV Networks After Bill Cosby’s Drug
It’s been a weird feeling to watch re-runs of The Cosby Show ever since the latest allegations have surfaced from more than two dozen women who said they were drugged and raped by legendary comedian Bill Cosby-but that may not be an issue for much longer.
“Cosby“, which starred the famed comedian and his ex-“Cosby Show” co-star Phylicia Rashad, was aired during Bounce TV’s daytime lineup.
The Cosby Show is still available to subscribers of Hulu Plus. A Centric rep told Adweek that the network will pull all Cosby Show episodes beginning tomorrow “until further notice”.
Bounce TV is a broadcast network carried by local television stations with corresponding cable carriage.
This comes eight months after TV Land pulled all reruns of Bill’s ’80s sitcom The Cosby Show.
The network did not confirm whether the programming change is permanent.
Now that legal documents have been released which reveal Cosby admitting to planning on drugging women, fans are finally admitting it to themselves.
Bounce TV, WECT’s secondary channel, will stop airing The Cosby Show effective immediately. Singer Jill Scott, one of the few celebrities to stand by Cosby last fall, reversed her stance Monday in light of Cosby’s testimony, tweeting, “I stood by a man I respected and loved”.
