Star Wars Won’t Reveal All at Comic-Con | TG Daily
It’s been confirmed that there will be no new footage coming out of this panel, but that doesn’t mean we won’t get a dose of insight into the new film.
The first of those films, The Force Awakens, is due out in December, but those clever folks at the Mouse House devised a way to make the wait a little more bearable. But unlike the movie’s Star Wars Celebration panel at Anaheim months ago, this one will not have new footage to show off, according to Entertainment Weekly on July 6.
Instead they will present a behind the scenes look at filming “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” while teasing other Star Wars projects on the horizon. Many think they are holding off for Disney’s D23 Expo that will be held in August.
The SDCC description for the space action thriller reads: “Lucasfilm president and producer Kathleen Kennedy, director J.J”.
Uprising “introduce[s] a new chapter of the Star Wars universe that will illuminate dramatic events in the Anoat Sector, inclusive of Hoth and Cloud City, following the Battle of Endor and the death of the Emperor”. Although EW hasn’t learned just which of the cast members will be joining them, our spies say there will be several actors who haven’t yet spoken publicly about their roles venturing onstage in Hall H.
And there is something a bit admirable at least in Disney not burying everyone in an onslaught of marketing (though that will surely come with six months to go until the film opens).
Time will tell, but we’ve heard that the next full The Force Awakens trailer won’t be around until Autumn 2016.
