Olly Murs a ‘bad influence’ on Simon Cowell
The ITV star, 35, was described by onlookers as “a little manic” as she hit the booze in the VIP dance tent with seven of her closest pals, including Laura Whitmore, 30, and Ed Sheeran’s ex Athina Andrelos, 24.
Yep, the new X Factor host has admitted that she is rather haunted by a tweet that she sent a whopping six years ago about fancying Olly, back when he was just a hopeful auditionee and she was a dedicated viewer.
Head in his hands, Olly looked visibly devastated for his friend, and later took to Twitter to say: ‘Seeing my mate get them 4 no’s was bad!
“You’re lacking that star quality presence you need to be a performer”, Rita Ora said, with Simon Cowell concurring: “I can’t lie to you and say to you that I would believe in you”. “I don’t think I will remember it”. I think Jon knew when he walked off that he didn’t do that best audition. “She reportedly added: “@samsmithworld you should tell them the Grammy text.
As he goes to perform a nervous Jon asks for water prompting Olly to rush on to help out his friend and speak with the judges and audience.
Student Tom Bleasby has already had some success, having sung a duet online with Jessie J. He found singing live very nerve-wracking, but got through Adele’s Make You Feel My Love.
Lauren Murray caught Simon’s eye with her performance of Jocelyn Brown’s Somebody Else’s Guy. Cheryl was impressed by her twerking and Rita said she made her feel “happy”. I am here today because I want this to be my life.
The X Factor continues next Saturday night on ITV with the second round of auditions.
