Manchester United rejected the chance to sign Marco Reus — Twitter Reaction
The Blues were hoping to land the Manchester United midfielder on a season-long deal but Januzaj has today sealed a move to Borussia Dortmund.
Manchester United has decided that Adnan Januzaj will not be part of their plans for 2014-15.
Januzaj who inherited the famous no. 11 jersey following the retirement of Ryan Giggs will be given no. 9 jersey in Borussia Dortmund.
With one player departing and Januzaj arriving, it means he is Thomas Tuchel’s fifth signing. Without a game changing signing like Reus, a Premier League title challenge is likely to be out of reach. “I want to achieve great things with the team”, Januzaj said on his Twitter. Dortmund are top of the Bundesliga after last season’s topsy-turvy campaign which saw Klopp’s side eventually finish seventh.
The 20-year-old Belgium global joined United from Anderlecht in 2011 but did not make his first-team debut until the 2013 Community Shield against Wigan. He made 50 appearances for the Red Devils and scored 5 goals across all competitions.
The move comes at an appropriate time for Januzaj in his young career. However, not even the wildest of fans would have expected to see such a day with so many deals being completed so quickly.
