Miley Cyrus closes VMAs with 30 drag queens
Kel Mitchell, star of “Kennan & Kel” and more recently the new Nickelodeon show “Game Shakers” was starstruck as he saw Cyrus. The 23-year-old’s grown up enough to be her own person and despite her “obscene” antics (enough so to be bestowed the honor of “worst celebrity role model for children” in Britain) she actually stands for something, a rarity in the post-apocalyptic pop landscape.
The album, Miley Cyrus and Her Dead Petz, is available only for streaming on Cyrus’s website; an insider who heard it last week described it to Yahoo Music as sounding like “Miley fronting Portishead”, so it’s not exactly the most MTV-friendly thing Miley’s ever done. According to the New York Times, which was the only outlet to interview the pop star about her new music, Cyrus is specifically singing about lesbian sex, quoting her as saying it’s “pretty self-explanatory”.
“I just bury my head in your armpit which…weirdly smells good and your hair and your f**king teeth / Like, why the f**k would I wanna lick your teeth but I do.”
At the end, Cyrus closes with, “You say it tastes like cake with my lips against your face/I want you to eat it babe”.
Miley Cyrus has just dropped her new free album Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz.
As the name suggests, Cyrus’ new album is dedicated to her “dead pets”, including her late dog Floyd and a dead fish. “What seems like fantasy or trippy, it’s not to me”. I am 100 percent in love with Wayne, and Wayne is in love with me, but it’s nothing sexual in any way. “I ain’t no hippie”, she was joined on stage by 30 drag queens, the majority of them from previous seasons of RuPaul’s Drag Race including Shangela, Alyssa Edwards, Laganja Estranja, Pearl, Willam and current reigning queen, Violet Chachki. “RCA Records is pleased to support Miley’s unique musical vision”. It was meant to be a gift.
