Possible criminal charges after teen fakes triplet pregnancy for 10-months
According to a report by WJBK, the 16-year-old Wyandotte girl first shocked those around her when she announced she was pregnant with not one but three babies.
When the teen girl went past 9 months without delivering the babies, people got suspicious.
Jordan, her 16 -ear-old boyfriend, was surprised by the announcement, but happy.
“I was excited, don’t get me wrong, but I was scared”, he told Fox2Detroit. He started hunting the best jobs, Jordan said.
On questioning by the station’s reporter that why he hadn’t grown suspicious at that point when 10 months were passed, the young man said, “She gave me the story of micro preemies and how her doctor thought time would be better in there than time in the incubator”. Nothing was amiss until Jordan’s mother began to suspect something was not right. She had ultrasound pictures confirming the triplets.
Suspicion grew after the girl was “pregnant” for more than nine months and no babies were born, Fox 2 reports. Soon after, they were contacted by an Ohio woman from the Moms of Triplets Facebook page, who discovered that the teen was using bogus ultrasound photos from the website Fakeababy.com.
Things got really confusing when a member of the Moms of Triplets group contacted the Wyrabkiewicz family with some disturbing news.
The unidentified teenager from Wyandotte, a suburb of Detroit, used a website called fakeababy.com to trick those around her into believing the ruse and reportedly giving her thousands of dollars in gifts.
The channel reported that the teenager’s boyfriend, identified as Jordan, was preparing for his life to change when he was told the news.
But it was the Facebook group that the girl joined that eventually led to her being exposed.
Mothers on the triplets Facebook support group realized that the ultrasound photos the teen was sharing were fake.
And, of course, “Fake Ultrasound Sonograms, Personalized”, and “personalized fake prescription” bottles.
She refused to come to the door but her brother said off camera that the babies had been lost.
“You can put them side by side and the only difference you’re going to see is that she used a fake doctor that doesn’t exist”.
To cover for her lies the teen then told everyone that she had been scheduled for a C-section and then she pretended to suffer a miscarriage. That’s when Jordan’s aunt called the authorities who are now investigating.
Police interviewed her and she admitted she had been pregnant, but lost them at six weeks.
“I don’t think anybody should go through that”, said Jordan. “She was scared and didn’t know what to do”, he says.
Because there is such a large amount of money and gifts involved police state that it was all obtained under false pretenses.
