SoulCalibur: Lost Swords Will End Its Service On November 30th
When the 30th of November rolls around, it won’t only be November coming to an end, but also SoulCalibur: Lost Swords.
The free-to-play single-player PlayStation 3 weapon-based fighting game saw just over 2m downloads since its February 2014 Japan release.
AP recovery items and Continue Tickets will no longer be available after September 30, and the treasure chest and other premium items will end its sales on October 27th. “Long live Soulcalibur”, the video says, adding, “The warriors may fade, but their souls will ignite again”. The publisher has however refrained to specify the reason why the game is being pulled off air.
Earlier this year, Bandai Namco polled Soulcalibur fans on their favorite characters from the series. Bandai Namco put out a video, below, about the Lost Swords closure, that suggests the publisher is keen to continue with the franchise.
Bandai Namco notes that the developer may be working on something big, saying, “Project Soul is probably preparing something huge”. The game itself, meanwhile, will close at 3 AM EDT on November 30.
