Sharif leaves for Norway to attend Oslo Summit | Rapid News Network
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has outrightly rejected media speculations regarding possible threats of Pakistan’s nuclear materials leaking into the hands of terrorist groups.
Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg had invited his Pakistani counterpart to participate in the Oslo Summit on Education for Development.
The Foreign Office said this visit will help in strengthening the existing bilateral ties between Pakistan and Norway. Prime Minister Nawaz, while responding to a question, termed the meeting between Afghan authorities and Taliban as a “breakthrough” and said it was an “overt” and not a “covert” meeting.
He said, “Pakistan wants to continue cooperation with Norway in various fields,”. About the meeting taking place between the Afghan authorities and Taliban, he hoped there would be a positive outcome, which will be very helpful for peace and security in Afghanistan.
The PM will address the Education Summit and meet several world leaders.
In Pakistan, he said the government was facilitating schooling in refugee camps and other displacement situations. He also met with the Crown Prince of Norway.
Further, he said that government is working towards increasing education spending up to 4% of the GDP and has made a “strong move” to eliminate terrorism from the country.
