Director hits back at critics of Taylor Swift’s African video

The Love Story singer was introducing her new video Wildest Dreams when she crouched down at the exact same time as a suspicious noise sounded on-screen.

Swift is donating all of the proceeds from the “Wildest Dreams” video to the African Parks Foundation.

To those who felt the video did not show enough black Africans, Kahn says: “The reality is not only were there people of color in the video, but the key creatives who worked on this video are people of color”.

And Lauren Duca, of the Huffington Post, added: “Instead of the cultural appropriation that has become nearly status quo in today’s pop music, Swift has opted for the bolder option of actually just embodying the political exploitation of a region and its people”.
