PM Nawaz Sharif inaugurates 42 development projects in AJK
“It was a discussion of the recent rise in tensions and in ways Pakistan could work constructively to ease those tensions, especially now after the cancellation of meetings between the two sides”, the official said. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif reiterated his government’s stance of owning the operation in the mega city which he termed entirely “apolitical” and “indiscriminate”.
The process of reconstuction and rehabilitation of internally displaced person (IDPs) in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) was also discussed during the meeting.
No statement was issued about Gen Sharif’s meeting with the Prime Minister but Dawn News reported that they discussed the operation in Karachi and its political implications. The civil and military leadership agreed to continue the Karachi operation till elimination of the last criminal in the city and not to accept any pressure in this regard, adding that the financial base of miscreants will be destroyed to free the country’s economic hub from the clutches of terrorists and supporters of anti-state elements.
Sharif said that Pakistan was continuously keeping the worldwide community abreast of these provocations. “Operation Zarb-e-Azb is war of our generations. We have to curb the scourge of terrorism and bequeath a peaceful and prosperous Pakistan to coming generation”, the prime minister said while adding that Pak-China Economic Corridor project will prove an important milestone in the journey of the prosperity and fortification of national economy.
“We will also not forgive those supporting terrorists in any way”.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that unprovoked Indian firing on the Line of Control is not only an aggression against Kashmiris but also amounts to targeting the conscience of the world community.
These projects will benefit population of thirty hundred thousand.
