Johnny Depp makes surprise visit to children’s hospital – The Times of India
Last week, Depp also posed for photos with locals once the filming was wrapped near the Queensland border.
Depp is in Australia to film Dead Men Tell No Tales, the fifth instalment in the swashbuckling Pirates series and the largest production ever to be made in the country.
Vicki searched through her handbag for something Depp could sign, and could only produce a copy of her electricity bill.
The 52-year-old actor wanted to keep the visit private but it took just a smart phone to get his secret on social media. “He tied a knot in his hair to make a beard”, shared one of the patients, Max Bennett who described the actor as “pretty cool” and “funny”.
“He was going from room to room seeing all the kids who couldn’t get out of bed”, Rachel told ABC News Australia. “It was really lovely…He was here for the kids”. Depp hugged the kids and took selfies with them, and even when people were trying to move him along, Max’s mother said “he kept on coming back”.
In the adorable video of the visit, it’s clear to see the Hollywood heartthrob put a smile on the children’s faces.
Depp gave Bennet a few gold coins engraved with a pirates head, and then paid a visit to the kids receiving treatment in the rehabilitation center.
Max, whose “favourite” movies are Pirates of the Caribbean, said meeting Jack Sparrow was the best part of his day.
