Calgary United Cabs driver suspended after kissing men kicked out of taxi
A Calgary taxi driver has had his license suspended following a complaint delivered to the Livery Transport Services on July 4.
Nolan Hill (left) says he and his partner were kicked out of a Calgary cab for kissing.
Calgary United Cabs tweeted about the incident on Tuesday afternoon.
“He’s not driving with us”, he said. Chadry said the driver had been with the company for three months.
The incident was reviewed by the city of Calgary’s Livery Transport Services, including the review of the cab’s video.
According to a release, the complaint alleged that driver, Stephen Eze, exhibited discriminatory behaviour towards two male passengers.
Mario Henriques says everyone should feel safe when travelling in a Calgary taxi and the driver’s actions don’t follow one of the bylaws for drivers to be professional and courteous.
Once the suspension is served, the driver will have to appear before a license review hearing to determine whether he will have the suspended lifted, extended or even have his license revoked.
In a statement, Hill said the past few days have been overwhelming.
He said he appreciates the “incredible support” he’s received since bringing the issue forward and noted he wanted to share his story to “highlight a broader issue in the city”. It is an important conversation to be having here in Calgary.
