Wonder Woman: Filming updates, working title revealed
Wonder Woman will eventually shoot scenes in Basilicata, Italy, in addition to the UK. Actress Gal Gadot from “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice” attends the Warner Bros. presentation during Comic-Con worldwide 2015 at the San Diego Convention Center on July 11, 2015 in San Diego, California.
Production on Wonder Woman is very much underway and we have confirmation – via ComicBookMovie.com and multiple sources – of the film’s working title, filming locations, and director of photography. That theory makes much more sense due to Wonder Woman being not only a warrior, but a healer and an intellectual. The story of the fantasy/adventure film reportedly takes place during World War I and is likely to take advantage of the unique ancient stone structures of Basilicata.
One of our favorite cinematographers at the moment is someone who has definitely flown a bit under the radar for far too long: Hoyte Van Hoytema. Footage from his last six films, including what we’ve seen from the not-yet-released Spectre, through Interstellar, Her, Call Girl, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, and The Fighter, shows a solid base for storytelling, but a diverse approach to details. Preceding it will be “Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice” and “Suicide Squad“. Her role will be small, but her presence will be undeniable. Although fans will already see the female superhero in Batman v Superman as her alter-ego, Diana Prince, is introduced, this movie will be the character’s first feature film. It has a star (Gal Gadot), a director (Patty Jenkins), a screenplay (by Jason Fuchs), and now it looks like it has an exotic location.
Apart from Gadot, Wonder Woman stars Chris Pine as Steve Trevor and is scheduled to release on 23 June 2017.
In the 1970s Wonder Woman starring Lynda Carter, a version of Nightingale, played by Joel Fabiana, also appeared.
