‘Can’t Buy Me Love’ Star Amanda Peterson’s Cause Of Death Revealed
Amanda Peterson’s cause of death has been confirmed as an accidental overdose. Traces of marijuana were also found in her system.
Weld County Coroner in Colorado determined that Peterson had a variety of prescription drugs in her system, including benzodiazepines (anti-anxiety meds), opiates and phenothiazines (an anti-psychotic medication). It is believed that Amanda was self-medicating to control pain.
“This was not, in any way, a drug thing”, Amanda’s mother, Sylvia told ET after news of her daughter’s death broke in July.
The medical examiner’s report further claimed the “Can’t Buy Me Love” star was “naïve to opiates”.
However, the report also says that gabapentin in her blood was six time higher than normal therapeutic levels, even though she was prescribed the medicine for pain relief after hysterectomy.
No recent morphine prescriptions for Amanda Peterson were found by doctors, but, she had been instructed to take multiple medications for heart and lung disease.
Amanda Peterson’s autopsy result recently came out and it revealed that the co-star of “Grey’s Anatomy” alum Patrick Dempsey died because of an accidental drug overdose. “After a while every guy is trying to lose his virginity and every girl is whatever and, you know, they’re like party animals”. Her last onscreen appearance was 1994 fantasy film Wind Runner, after which she quit the world of cinematics.
At the time of her death, Peterson’s father reportedly noted she’d been suffering from a number of health concerns over the past few years, including pneumonia, sinusitis and sleep apnoea.
Peterson retired from the entertainment industry aged just 23, and moved back to her native Colorado where she married twice and started a family.
