Chalupas on demand: Taco Bell starting delivery service
Don’t get up. No need to find your keys.
The fast-food company says it will begin testing delivery service on Wednesday at 200 outlets in their Dallas, Los Angeles, Orange County, Calif., and San Francisco Bay area markets. Now, Taco Bell can come to you.
Last month, the company announced it was opening a Taco Bell that would serve beer, wine and alcohol-spiked freezes in the heart of Chicago’s Wicker Park neighborhood. Yum Chief Executive Officer Greg Creed told analysts in May that delivery could be “a massive sales driver for the brand”.
In 2012, Burger King started testing delivery service in a number of cities in the U.S. Panera also recently began testing delivery service in Louisville, Ky.
“Delivery is yet another example of how we’re using technology and innovation to respond to consumers’ wants and needs, further evolving the Taco Bell experience for customers”, said Taco Bell CEO Brian Niccol in a press release.
It’s called Postmates, and with it you can order everything from new clothes to prescriptions to early morning coffee. DoorDash is based in Palo Alto, California. In tests, deliveries took about 38 minutes.
From groceries and toiletries, human food to dog food, and even Taco Bell, I’ve found a cool site (not Amazon Prime) that will deliver nearly anything you can imagine, in less than an hour, directly to your door! The delivery startup, which has raised nearly $60 million from investors, says it’s aiming to operate in 500 cities by the end of the year.
