US journalists killed on live TV were both shot in the head
The husband of the surviving victim in the on-air attack of two journalists in Virginia says his wife was shot in the back. Keaton, who said he was relaying information from Gardner’s husband, reported that she is alert and in good spirits and that her memory is vivid.
Flanagan shot and killed himself after his vehicle crashed in an embankment following a pursuit with police.
As authorities caught up with him on Interstate 66 in Northern Virginia, Flanagan, a former WBDJ7 reporter, shot himself. We are also praying for the recovery of Vicky Gardner.
Outside the studios for CBS Roanoke affiliate WDBJ-TV, friends and strangers gathered Thursday night at a candlelight vigil to honor the lives of Alison Parkerand Adam Ward.
The unexpected complaint surprised Kaine’s staff members, who quickly issued a statement explaining why Kaine, who was on official travel in Alaska when the shooting occurred, had not called Parker.

“He was victimised by everything and everyone and could never quite grasp the fact that he was the common denominator in all of these really sometimes serious interpersonal conflicts that he had with people“, Dennison said.
Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe, a Democrat, vowed to press ahead with legislation on background checks for gun buyers, although the Republican-led legislature has rejected his gun control efforts.
Parker acknowledged that trying to get laws changed would be hard, and divisive.
“Adam Ward – the young man who was killed – was standing in a back corner of the newsroom, videotaping this for documentation”.
On Friday night lawmakers and mental health experts discussed what can be learned in the aftermath of the death of Allison Parker and Adam Ward.

The family has asked for donations to some of Parker’s favorite organizations as well as two scholarship funds named in her honor: the Alison B. Parker Memorial Fund scholarship through James Madison University and the Alison Bailey Parker Memorial Scholarship through Patrick Henry Community College Foundation. “That’s where she would want to be – in the river”.
