According to the Huffington Post’s Jennifer Bendery, the Department of Homeland Security has issued a statement that there is “no indication” of a cyber attack behind today’s suspicious incidents.
Shortly after the outage, the NYSE tweeted that the issue was internal and not a breach.
The exchange’s outage passed the three-hour mark midafternoon while other venues, such as the Nasdaq Stock Market, continued trading. Slate notes that there was a message on the site that read.
