Audi Debuts 2016 SQ5 TDI Plus With Whopping 516 LB-FT

MILTON KEYNES, United Kingdom – September 4, 2015: The already formidable Audi SQ5 TDI reinforces its status as a practical SUV delivering genuine sportscar pace this week as it becomes the latest Audi “S” model to undergo the performance-intensifying “plus” treatment.

The Audi SQ5 TDI Plus has been revealed as a more powerful version of the SQ5 TDI, getting an extra 27bhp and a sports diff at the back for better power distribution. Now, Audi is introducing a higher specification “plus” edition, which comes with an updated configuration of the same six-cylinder engine pushing out 340 PS (250 kW) and 700 Nm (517 lb-ft) thanks to increased injection pressure that makes it even more powerful than the limited-run 326 PS SQ5 Competition launched recently in Spain.

The SQ5 TDI Plus goes on sale in Europe from October 2015.

The quad exhaust system has been upgraded in both visual and acoustic regards while glossy black 21-inch Audi Sport wheels wrapped around in 255/40 R21 tires sit at each corner.

All-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic gearbox are standard, as is a sports differential for the rear axle. In the NECD cycle, it merely requires 6.6 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers (35.6 United States mpg) with emission of 174 g CO2/km (280.0 g/mi).

That translates into a ballistic 335 hp (340PS), 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque monster that can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.1 seconds and reach a limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph).

Inside, there’s a bigger range of adjustment on the sliding rear seat bench, a diamond pattern in sliver on the nappa leather upholstery leather trim on the door armrests. Matching the exterior color, the macaw blue contrasting stitching on the seats, the steering wheel, the selector lever gaiter and the floor mats provides colorful highlights.

Also available for the SQ5 TDI Plus will be Audi’s exclusive selection macaw blue equipment package, of which only 100 units will be made. Rounding off the list of tweaks is the inlays in aluminum/Beaufort and black.
