Taylor Swift donates $50000 to superfan battling Leukemia | Key 103 – Number 1
Naomi had chosen Swift’s hit “Bad Blood” as her personal “fight song” as she endures a months-long hospital stay.
However, Taylor heard of her story and made sure Naomi knew she cared.
The family of Naomi Oakes, from Arizona, set up a crowdfunding website after discovering her diagosis of acute myelogenous leukaemia at the end of June.
Naomi now will need to spend up to the next nine months in hospital undergoing intense therapy, which means missing out on many things including an upcoming Swift concert that she was given tickets to for Christmas.
Just two days after the family posted the video and asked for the “Taylor Nation” to help get word to Tay herself, the singer responded in spectacular fashion.
Clearly, and understandably, overwhelmed by the kind gesture, a video shows Naomi with a HUGE smile on her face saying: “I can barely breath”.
Swift made three $15,000 donations and one of $5,000, along with the message: “To the attractive and fearless Naomi, I’m sorry you have to miss it, but there will always be more concerts”.
“We are obviously scared and concerned for our girl, but she has been a trooper and is positive about getting better”. “I seriously think I’m going to pass out right now”. “I’m sending the biggest hugs to you and your family”, she wrote.
The internet’s favourite guy-who-breaks-songs-into-20-different-sections-and-then-performs-each-section-in-the-style-of-another-famous-artist-or-band is back to do it all again with Taylor Swift’s chart-exploder Bad Blood, and the results are every bit as social media share-able as you’d expect. (Disclaimer: You may want to grab the tissues.). We’ve just got something in our eye.
