3 injured in machete attack at University of Arkansas, officials say
A homeless man from Fayetteville used a machete to attack a group of people during a confrontation on the University of Arkansas campus.
University of Arkansas police have identified a homeless man who is accused of attacking two people with a machete. He was treated and taken to the Washington County Detention Center.
“Victim One had to have his neck sutured by a trauma surgeon at the Emergency Room to prevent him from bleeding to death”, the official’s report stated.
According to WTOC, eyewitnesses in the area said that were driving in the area of the attacks when they could see people running from that wooded area on campus. In January 2015, the body of a homeless man was found, and police arrested another man in the case. He said they would just set up another camp elsewhere. He said he’s gotten commitments for funding and to help build the transitional houses, but is still looking for land.
Kyle Coney said he was on his way to baseball practice when the stabbings happened.
“I saw a guy in the middle of the road with a lady behind him”.
Fox News reports that the incident took place around 7:15 p.m. at the University of Arkansas. “I would say students want to see it addressed”, she said. “A lot of the homeless people here are nice and they’ll talk to you”.
