Elite: unsafe launch date confirmed for Xbox One
Elite unsafe has been available in an Early Access state on Xbox One since June, allowing console users to play the space sim throughout its later stages of development and provide feedback to Frontier.
In a Reddit AMA over the weekend (via Polygon) David Braben, CEO of studio that developed and published Elite: unsafe, announced that the Xbox One version will be officially released on October 6th. He of course confirmed the release date of October 6 for the Xbox One version of the game, and also added that those now playing the game via the Xbox Preview Program will also get an exclusive reward for taking part. It will be a timed exclusivity with the PS4 release date not confirmed yet. Although, players will receive these items’ value in cash which can be deposited to their in-game wallet at launch. But, the Xbox One version of Elite: unsafe will not have Kinect support for headtracking, which is a disappointment, but it will feature support for the upcoming Xbox Elite controller that’s priced at $150. This is purely our own speculation, only time will tell what players will get their hands on. Braben also said that account transfers across PC and Xbox One will be possible in the future. The expansion is set to launch on PC this holiday season, bringing the ability to descend and land on the virtually endless number of in-game worlds in the Elite: Dangerous’s procedurally generated galaxy.
