Petra Laszlo, Hungarian journalist who tripped refugees is fired
The camerawoman had been let go after behaving unacceptably. There are women and children and they are just kept in the open. Another footage of the same camerawoman appeared showing her kicking two refugees, including a little female. It runs a weekly chat show with Gabor Vona, leader of the far-right, anti-immigration opposition party Jobbik.
Hundreds of migrants broke through police lines in Hungary near the Serbian border Wednesday, September 9, for a third day running, as the army began mobilizing for a possible role in guarding the frontier. Police have been trying to round them up and register them. Thousands of migrants have continued to cross into Hungary over the last few days from Serbia. Riot police tried to cool things down but they got into a pushing match with the people.
The new laws in Hungary also allow for new “transit zones” to hold asylum seekers while their applications are being processed, and allow for the deployment of soldiers to reinforce newly-created “border hunter” patrols. He underlined that 500,000 migrants have entered Europe this year, many from Syria and Libya.
Meanwhile, President Obama has now said the USA has a “moral responsibility” to play a role in the migration crisis by offering to take in Syrian refugees.
He said most migrants were seeking a better life in Germany rather than fleeing war, and those did not need help. Since the beginning of 2015 the number of migrants using the so-called “Balkans route” has exploded with migrants arriving in Greece from Turkey and then travelling on through Macedonia and Serbia before entering the EU via Hungary.
Prime Minister Viktor Orban vowed earlier this week to speed up the new barrier’s construction.
Yesterday, Csaba Hende resigned as defence minister after seeing the slow progress on the fence.
