Cadillac ATS recalled; rear defroster control can overheat
In total 121,000 Cadillac ATS sedans from the 2013-2016 model years are affected by the recall, which involves the rear-window defroster possibly overheating due to weak terminal connectivity in the coil antenna module.
GM says the issue could pose a risk of a fire inside the rear pillar on the driver’s side of the vehicle.
The Cadillac ATS is being recalled for a potential fire hazard with its rear-window defroster.
The problem occurs when the defroster has been run continuously and it will be fixed with a simple software flash that will require that drivers turn on the defroster manually.
Owners of the Cadillac ATS sedan may be starting to sweat as General Motors announces another recall of the sports sedans. The vehicles were sold globally, but the majority were sold in North America. Despite the fires, GM says that it knows of no accidents, injuries, or deaths caused by the wiring flaw. The update will be performed free of charge to the customer.
If you own one of these vehicles, you’ll receive a recall notice by mail.
