Upcoming MGS 5 Patch Will fix the Lost Save Data; Konami Assures
Coming directly from Media Create, as obtained by DualShockers, we now know that Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is the 5th best selling entry in its launch week in Japan. However, the exact trigger for the bug wasn’t known until now. “This situation can be avoided by not using Quiet as a buddy while playing either “Mission 29” or “Mission 42″, the publisher advised”. The first is to have the Butterfly Emblem equipped. It seems that a save corrupting bug has been discovered in the game, though Konami is now working on fixing it as fast as possible. However, there is some hope yet for those that have had their Metal Gear Solid 5 save files corrupted, as Konami is working to fix any corrupted save data. The company promises that more news on the release of that “will be announced soon”. In the meantime, we apologize deeply for the problem and thank you for your patience as we continued work to resolve the issue.
Konami has yet to issue any official reason for the glitch, but it appears as if it may have something to do with progression during Quiet’s storyline. Much like in the previous game, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, Big Boss runs a mercenary group, and he’ll be hired to take on a mission or a side-op somewhere on the map. Considering that Snake’s allies are one of the game’s best and most popular features, it was a shock that a glitch of such scale could have made its way into the game.
Other than that, there really isn’t much to see here, so be sure to let us know if you think that the PS4 can keep up this winning streak in the comments section below. The objective of Metal Gear Solid V as a sandbox game is to exploit and find weaknesses, whereas in Metal Gear Solid 3, it was a bonus.
