A day after terror attack, PM says terrorists’ backbone broken
The PM said that Pakistan’s resolve to fight against terror became stronger despite the severe sufferings.
Both the leaders agreed that terrorism was a common enemy and that both the countries would make joint efforts to eliminate this menace. “We’ve frequently seen operations by the Taliban up in this area”, Phil Mudd, a counterterrorism analyst said on CNN. So far, we have been able to destroy the infrastructure and destroy their network.
Earlier, soon after hearing the news of the terrorist attack on Bacha Khan University in Charsadda, the prime minister directed Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Minister Pervaiz Rashid, SAFRON Minister Abdul Qadir Baloch, Religious Affairs Minister Sardar Muhammad Yousaf and State Minister Balighur Rehman to reach Charsadda and extend maximum support to the provincial government and other law-enforcement agencies.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday condemned the attack on an armed militant attack on a university in northwestern Pakistan that claimed at least 21 lives. There is a huge economic loss also.
“The prime minister and the chief of army staff agreed that the war against terrorism and extremism will continue with full might”, said a statement issued by the prime minister’s office after the later talked on phone with the army chief from Zurich, in Switzerland, to discuss the attack. “We have been successful on all three fronts”, he noted. Noting that revenue is increasing, he said a very good turnaround is taking place in Pakistan.
He also stressed that the Pakistani government has the ability to decide what conforms to public interest and added that it does not require a parliamentary decision to stand in solidarity with Saudi Arabia. This is going to benefit entire region, not just two countries.
