A few 94000 cars in Portugal affected by Volkswagen scandal
A total of 946,092 cars in France are involved in the scandal that has rocked the automobile industry.
The Hungarian government said Tuesday it is consulting with Volkswagen unit Audi Hungaria and with Mercedes Benz, which also has a local assembly plant, about the issue. This may mean that the 2015 Audi A4 and Q5 could be cheating too.
More than a million Skoda vehicles are fitted with the software which was used by Volkswagen to cheat emissions tests, the troubled auto company admitted today.
Volkswagen said on Wednesday there were 946,092 vehicles in France equipped with the EA 189 engines affected by the emissions data manipulation carried out by the company worldwide.
With the so-called “defeat device” deactivated, the auto can spew pollutant gases into the air, including nitrogen oxide in amounts as much as 40 percent higher than emissions standards, said the US Environmental Protection Agency.
“The list of the brands affected are: 574 259, Audi, 189 322, Skoda, 66 572, 93 388 SEAT and 24 523 Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles”, said Garousse.
