A LEVEL RESULTS: Kirkham Grammar School

Student Felicity Donnelly is off to the University of Lincoln to study drama.

Nearly 410,000 have taken up places so far – a rise of 3% on past year.

In addition, students surpassed expectations by achieving 100 per cent pass rates in almost three quarters of the courses available.

At St Wilfrid’s RC College, in South Shields, 98% of students who sat three A-levels were awarded A* to E grades. My dad knew the former principal here and said he thinks it was a good college.

“It’s a day of high emotions, and it is such a privilege to see our students rewarded for all their efforts, ready to make their next move into Higher Education and out into the world”.

He said: “The university gave me an offer that I needed to get one A* and two As to enter”.

He said: “I’m absolutely over the moon, I can’t believe it”. “I can’t wait to start university”.

Lucy Halls achieved A*, A, B in Maths Further Maths and Physics.

“The exams were not easy”.

She impressed when she met with consultants at the firm to discuss her apprenticeship options and they recruited her themselves to work as an IT Apprentice. “The teaching is fantastic and I couldn’t have asked for anything better!”

Deputy head teacher, Hilary Thomas, said: “It’s a time of mixed emotions because I am very happy for them but will always miss them a lot when they go”.

“Aaron has set a precedent for students following him into A level as he really is the shining star at Cambridge House and a great role model for the younger students who are looking to emulate his achievements”.

A record number of students from Folkestone Academy will be taking up places at university.

“Once again, GEMS schools have increased and built on previous attainment and performance in the A Level results for 2015”.

One of the college’s many success stories is Matt Ivey, who achieved A*AA grades and will be studying physics at the University of Nottingham.

33 per cent of students have received A*-A, which is higher than the UK National Average indicators which have yet to be announced.
