A Star Wars fan, always and forever
The action is almost non-stop, as is the humor, which kicks into gear when Han Solo (Harrison Ford) finally shows up.
Regardless of whether you’re a hardcore Star Wars fan or a newbie who’s aware of Star Wars but doesn’t really know the story, here’s what you should know about the new movie before you watch it. And don’t worry, the following details all come from the trailers, TV commercials and backstory that Disney was willing to provide, so there aren’t any spoilers in this one. “I think they’ll do fine”. But go with this knowledge – you will not be disappointed.
Few details on the J.J. Abrams-directed picture have been released, except some broad character outlines in the run-up to this week’s release.
Fans are ecstatic about the upcoming movie.
“The Force Awakens”, opening in theatres across the world this week, was included in a list alongside awards front-runners such as Wall Street misdeeds comedy “The Big Short” and lesbian romance drama “Carol”. Almost 40 years later, as the whole Star Wars saga has endured the test of time, “Star Wars and the Power of Costume: The Exhibit” is underway at Discovery Times Square. “I think it’s incredible how the original designer (John Mollo) was able to blend and marry the Samurai with a modern warrior and build archetypes that have remained timeless”, said Armstrong. So buy a ticket.
Chris Nashawaty from Entertainment Weekly said, “J.J”. The franchise seems in good hands with Abrams, who grew up on the original three films and updated the on-screen “Star Trek” with a winning mix of looking back and ahead. But all along the way, there is actual acting (not always a given in this franchise), and the new characters are not just throw-ins.
