A Tale Of Two Guardians Is New Quest For Destiny
The developer provided more information through a Refer-a-Friend FAQ page on the site. When you refer your friends to Destiny, you will both be eligible for exclusive rewards.
As recently announced, Destiny’s new refer-a-friend system is now live along with some new, exclusive rewards. Upon completing specific quests, both players will be rewarded with exclusive gear and loot.
The rewards all look great and fit perfectly with the cooperative nature of Destiny, but it’s frustrating to see them unattainable by veteran players who have been playing the game since launch. Only two players – one with Veteran status and another with Referee status – can be linked together. “Refer-a-Friend features are not now available in the Destiny Companion App”.
As a thank you, a smorgsbord of goodies are on offer, including a new quest, bonus buffs, two new emotes, a spanking new sparrow, shiny swords and a new shader and emblem.
Bungie also says that forum threads are the best way to find a newcomer to play with, which might lead to a lot of activity and spam in the coming weeks. The upgraded Year One gear includes favorites such as the Dragon’s Breath rocket launcher and Nothing Manacles. However, the two new exotics that will be landing with the December upgrade have also been capturing attention and Polygon states that one is the ATS/8 Tarantella. There are few things more controversial in Destiny than weapon re-balancing, since it affects play styles and sometimes forces people to switch to a different weapon types.
