A Walk to End Alzheimer’s
They were able to choose between a four kilometre and 10km route for the Alzheimer’s Society Memory Walk in Cardiff Bay on Saturday.
“Yes, there were a few tears because people are walking for people who are gone and that’s lovely in its own way because they are incredibly motivated”.
“It’s a really, uplifting inspirational event which is getting bigger and bigger each year”.
The charity is sharing its expertise in supporting people living with dementia by offering a practical tool to help improve the wider charity sector’s fundraising contacts with vulnerable people.
“I have seen firsthand what Alzheimer’s can do to people, and it’s scary and unsafe and heart-wrenching”, MacPherson said.
A new research has shed light on brain’s progression from mild cognitive impairment (MCI) to Alzheimer’s-type dementia by showing the typical patterns. Funds from the walk will support those with the disease and their caregivers.
With a projected increase in Utah, more friends and family will be impacted on some level by these challenging diseases. That’s why it is so important to have events like this.
All of the money raised will go towards helping to find a cure for Alzheimer’s, as well as towards caregivers.
Around 500 people took part in the walk to show support and solidarity for those affected by Alzheimer’s.
