Aamir Khan to be announced as brand ambassador for drought-free Maharashtra

The aim is to communicate and create awareness among people at the grassroot level about water conservation and watershed management, the superstar said. Under the umbrella of Water Cup, three talukas (Koregaon, Warud and Ambajogai) belonging to three separate districts of Maharashtra will be taught techniques of water preservation and cash prizes of 50 lakhs, 30 lakhs and 20 lakhs will be awarded to the first, second and third village respectively.
He is likely to be the ambassador of “drought-free Maharashtra” and will promote a flagship irrigation scheme in villages, sources say.
CM Fadnavis had launched the water conservation project within a couple of months after he occupied office in 2014.
