AAP government asks Delhi police to submit pending crime cases against women

Taking strong objection to the letter, BJP asked Kejriwal to stay within his “limits” while coming down hard on him for repeated barbs at the Prime Minister.
Following a meeting with Kejriwal on Monday, the Delhi police chief asked his fellow police personnel “to not pay too much attention to remarks made about them”.
The incident happened on Tuesday night when Pandey was talking to media over police action on AAP volunteers at Anand Parbat.
Dozens of raging demonstrators, mainly from New Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi (Common Man) Party, tried to break through barricades erected around police headquarters, over the alleged murder of the 19-year-old last week.

The decision comes a day after Delhi Police Commissioner BS Bassi reportedly refused to share details regarding crimes against women with Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
According to the Delhi Police, AAP workers had not given any intimation or taken permission, which is required for a large scale protest and this forced them to take action. The Government of India has never interfered in the operational decisions of Delhi police.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (South-East) Mandeep Singh Randhawa said that is was a “non-cognisable offence”.
Responding to a question on the ACB row, Kejriwal, who has often accused the Centre of tying its hands over the law and order question, said, “These people want that even if a thulla (cop) is caught demanding money from the street vendors, we can’t try him”.
