AAP MLA Lamba Attacked During Anti-drug Drive
MLA Alka Lamba was attacked by unidentified men at Kashmere Gate in north Delhi on Sunday.
Following the attack, Alka Lamba was rushed to Aruna Asaf Ali hospital. The police are questioning the man. “The motive of the attack wasn’t to target me, but to disrupt this anti-drug drive”.
Addressing a press conference, AAP Delhi Convenor Dilip Pandey cited the arrest of a constable for allegedly gang-raping a woman in Ranhola area of West Delhi on Thursday night in countering the assault charges against party MLA Commando Surinder Singh.
Lamba further said that the whole thing smacked of a conspiracy, adding that she was hopeful of a fair probe by the police.
Aam Aadmi Party stands by its supporters and members and is confident that our workers and leaders will come out of all fabricated charges clean and clear. Alka Lamba was protesting against the drugs and all type of narcotics. “Our fight will continue”. Her party workers gave chase and caught the man, Ms Lamba said, but there is no word on whether he has been identified. “(The) shop is owned by present BJP MLA Om Prakash Sharma”, he tweeted.
AAP leader Ashutosh took to Twitter to allege that the sweet shop from which Jatin was nabbed belongs to BJP MLA from Vishwas Nagar Om Prakash Sharma. She was accompanied by the local volunteers of the party who had later taken her to the nearest hospital for first aid. It’s deep conspiracy. AAP will fight back.
