AAP’s Bharti protected from arrest for two days
In a temporary respite for ex-Delhi law Minister Somnath Bharti, the Delhi High Court, on Tuesday, stayed his arrest at least until Thursday. “

Aam Aadmi Party’s Somnath Bharti, wanted in a case of domestic violence, has not appeared, but his dog – described as “case property” by the police – has surfaced, reported NDTV.
The ASJ, while rejecting anticipatory bail to Bharti, had accepted submissions of the Special Public Prosecutor that allegations against the lawmaker were serious and there was a possibility of his tampering with evidence. The former law minister of Delhi was accused for a case of domestic abuse with charges that also included endeavor to murder. Earlier, the cops raided several places in Agra following the NBW issued against him.
Meanwhile, the ruling AAP today asked Bharti to surrender before police.
Police had filed an FIR against Bharti following a complaint by Bharti’s wife Lipika Mitra, who said the AAP leader has been abusing her ever since their marriage in 2010. She had also given a complaint to the police in this regard.
A first information report (FIR) was filed against Bharti under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including for domestic violence and attempt to murder, at Dwarka North police station in west Delhi.
