With his sixth consecutive pole position, Rosberg is just two legs behind Ayrton Senna’s all-time record.
Nico Rosberg has admitted that he is “pleased” to have secured pole position for a sixth straight race after setting the fastest time in qualifying at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
“It was still a bit off what the other guys can do”, said Raikkonen at the briefing.
Rosberg, who has also won the last two races, later told reporters that he felt “quicker in the moment” after what has largely been a disappointing year spent in Hamilton’s shadow.
That’s something we’ll find out between now and next spring as the teams retreat to their hideaways for the winter, after tomorrow’s 2015 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at Yas Marina rounds off the 2015 F1 season.

The Super soft tyres are helping the drivers put quick times and Ferrari might have an edge over Mercedes on Race day, at race pace.
Mercedes have been the class of the field this season, and Hamilton finished the opening session a quarter of a second clear of Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen in third.
Completing the Top 10 were: Force India’s Nico Hulkenberg, Felipe Massa of Williams, Daniil Kvyat of Red Bull and Toro Rosso’s Carlos Sainz Jr. Fernando Alonso improved well throughout the weekend, but missed advancing into the second session when the Spaniard flattened his left rear tire and will start next to Vettel.
“I’d much rather be on pole, of course, and I was working as hard as I could towards that, but Nico did a great job”. “The races generally have been quite good so I am just trying to figure out why this is the case in qualifying”.
