Acadiana Mall announces Black Friday hours
The Point Shopping Mall will, for the first time in Malta, host Black Friday – an entire day of sales on the last Friday of November. Year after year, we see stories on the news of people losing their cool when shopping, especially at midnight Friday, the official beginning of Black Friday.
“The final capability is to have complete visibility, which is absolutely critical to know how the data centre is operating on a day like Black Friday as workloads like these days are not the norm”, Olivier says.
Not every store will be open when the mall opens Thanksgiving night at 6 p.m., but on Friday morning, all stores inside the mall will open at 6 a.m. Opening hours at the anchor department stores may vary.
“If consumers are gearing up to spend an even greater chunk of their final 2015 pay packet at the end of November could this mean that the traditional Christmas shopping period in December is over, at least for big ticket items?”
As explained by Jon Weber, the head of global retail and consumer products with the consulting firm L.E.K., the key behind virtually all of Black Friday’s incessant gamesmanship is the knowledge that holiday spending is a zero sum game.
“I’m expecting it will be pretty busy, usually we have to work a longer shift during Black Friday”, She said.
She said: “We’ve got all our temps in as well so we’re expecting a very hectic day, but it will be good and lots of fun”.
“We’ve taken on lots of Christmas temps, around 20, and we’ll have lots of staff on”.
The National Retail Federation is predicting that holiday sales will increase by 3.7 percent over previous year. “I think they’re really going to enjoy it”.
Brewer said he expects toys and electronics to be big sellers this season.
“(My daughter) can pick up my phone and go through pictures, so the fact that Santa will also send a message on the phone at night, I think will be really neat”, said said Acadiana Mall shopper Karris Toups.
So you still have time to come out to Midland Park Mall and get some good deals.
However, this year supermarket giant Asda has declared it isn’t going to take part in Black Friday, instead saying it is going to offer discounts all year round.
