According To Leslie Jones’ Twitter Troll, He Was Doing God’s Work
Moran recalled how Jones was attacked on Twitter by numerous racists soon after her “Ghostbusters” movie opened over the summer, and that Yiannopoulos called the actress a “black dude” in a tweet.
The right-wing troll made infamous by the online abuse directed at Leslie Jones received a taste of his own medicine on national TV. Moran asked with a look of disgust.
“I would rather a healthier, equitable arrangement that existed between the sexes rather than the sort of vindictive feminism that seems to exist now”, Yiannopoulos added.
Yiannopoulos refused to back down on his position, insisting he should be able to make fun of a Hollywood star without it turning into an worldwide incident.
“Are you a troll?”
Yiannopoulos said yes. Moran said, “Then you’re an idiot!”
Yiannopoulos, a well-known Internet troll and an editor at Breitbart, sat down with “Nightline” recently where he shed light on his controversial actions.
Yiannopoulos said he found other social media users who compared Jones to an ape “disgusting” and noted he was not responsible for what other people say.
“I don’t say anything I don’t believe”, Yiannopoulos told Moran.
“It’s just too much”, she said at the time. “Are you a 13-year-old?”, to which Milo said that the real problem lies with the body positivity movement and the “idea that you can tell women they’ll be happy and health at any size”.
Yiannopoulos said yes he would.
“Why should I have to police other people’s speech?” asks Yiannopoulos.
“You think that’s a fair comment and a decent thing, a civil thing to do?”
He went on to blast fellow comediennes Lena Dunham and Amy Schumer in a performance that Breitbart, the conservative news website that employs him, hailed as a signature roasting by “Milo”.
