Activision reportedly at work on new Ghostbusters game
The two hit Ghostbusters movies were a huge part of the 80s pop culture.
According to a report obtained by IGN, Activision is developing a “fully-fledged” Ghostbusters title for PS4 and Xbox One.
We launched a licensing program based on the classic property and celebrated the 25th anniversary by launching a successful console video game.
The new movie, directed by Paul Feig, will mark the return of the Ghostbusters franchise to the big screen since the 80s.
If video games can outsell Hollywood’s biggest blockbusters, what could be the best way to ensure a movie’s success? According to a new report, Activision is actually working on a Ghostbusters game that will be released alongside the new movie. It was back in 2008 when Ghostbusters: The Video Game was released, it was written by Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis, with the original cast lending their voice to the characters in the game. This time however, Activision is at the helm, not Terminal Reality; the development team behind the Ghostbusters: The Video Game.
A new Ghostbusters movie is going to be released this Summer and Sony Pictures is going to push this movie in any way it can with a huge promotional campaign and dedicated merchandise. So, if you’re bored of the same old video games like we are sometimes, who you gonna call?
