Actor Charlie Sheen Reveals He Is HIV Positive

Hollywood actor Charlie Sheen has revealed that he is HIV positive.

Charlie also told Matt that it was “impossible” for him to have transmitted the virus to anyone, and noted that he tells all of his sexual partners about his status. “I trusted them, they were in my inner circle and thought they could be helpful”. I thought I had a brain tumor, I thought it was over, after a battery of tests, spinal taps… they walked in the room and said this is what’s going on.

Charlie Sheen has admitted on United States television that he is living with HIV. “It’s a turning point in one’s life”, Sheen said.

The actor alleges that he’s been exploited by others who have demanded money to “stay silent”.

He spoke candidly about being held ransom by a prostitute who entered his bathroom, took a cellphone picture of his medication and threatened to sell the image to tabloids.

In the United States, more than 1.2 million people have HIV, and about 50,000 people are newly infected each year, Today reports.

Asked about his current financial situation, Sheen said, “it’s not great”.

In coming forward with his condition, he hopes to put an end to the extortion he’s faced.

As for Sheen’s doctor, he stopped by the Today show and assured Lauer that Sheen’s virus count is low and he does not have AIDS.

His problems with alcohol and substance abuse haven’t gotten in the way of his treatment so far, a fact that surprises his doctor.

Sheen said one of the reasons he disclosed the news about his health was to stop others from extorting him. “I’m a survivor. I’ve been up, I’ve been down, I’ve been rich, I’ve been poor”, he said. Sheen appeared to be referring to the swirl of rumors surrounding a National Enquirer story that broke yesterday saying that Sheen is HIV-positive.
