Actress Elizabeth Banks will return to direct ‘Pitch Perfect 3’ after taking

She has been rumored to be the one Universal wanted for the job, but with her new career path, shes also been fielding other offers. It will bring back stars Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, Brittany Snow and Banks.

Though a third Pitch flawless film has been buzzed about since spring, Banks previously played coy on whether she would direct the franchise’s next installment.

“Pitch ideal 3” just got a little more flawless. She also appeared in a minor role in both previous films.

Banks made her directorial debut with Pitch flawless 2 which was released May 2015.

The multi-hyphenate is now attached to helm Uni’s “Red Queen” adaptation and Sony’s “Charlie’s Angels” reboot, but both films are still in development. Screenwriter Kay Cannon will also be back to pen the script.

A Universal Pictures and Gold Circle Entertainment production, Pitch ideal 3 is scheduled for release on August 4, 2017.

Made for relatively cheap—Pitch flawless cost $12 million to produce, while Pitch ideal 2 cost $29 million—these films have become a global phenomenon, and a very profitable one at that, earning $115 million and $285 million, respectively, worldwide.
