Adam Gase, who interviewed for Browns coach, making progress toward
At the end of the day, Gase is just another OC with limited success that someone is hoping will blossom in the head coaching role.
Gase got his start coaching at Michigan State. Many people expected Gase to be “one and done” in Chicago, but after Cutler played so well under him it was hard for people to see him go.
An Ypsilanti, Mich. native, Gase also spent time with the San Francisco 49ers (2008) and Detroit Lions (2003-07), where he began his National Football League career in scouting.
While six other teams continue to search for new leadership, Miami has fallen for Adam Gase. The Dolphins didn’t rule out the possibility Dan Campbell, their interim coach for the final 12 games this season, will be part of Gase’s staff. He also was familiar with Tannenbaum before the interview process.
With Adam Gase at the helm, he can work with QB Ryan Tannehill in refining his game. After all, he led Tim Tebow to the playoffs, earned the respect of future Hall-of-Famer Peyton Manning, and even had a suit tailored for him as a Christmas present from the newly-resurgent Jay Cutler.
To an outsider, Gase’s climb up the coaching ladder may appear swift, but he said it didn’t seem that way to him. There are trends and things that happen and things that you have to react to regardless of what they are. Ross attributed some of the dysfunction in the past to murky flow charts on the organization’s power structure. “Last year I talked to a couple teams on the behalf of him that reached out to me”.
TEAM TAKES LOOK AT PATRIOTS COORDINATOR: The Browns may grab another branch from the Bill Belichick tree for their next coach.
Gase was the offensive coordinator for the high-scoring Broncos in 2013-14 but also for the last-place Bears this season.
“I couldn’t be happier for Adam and his family”, Cutler told the Bears’ website.
“Only a season amongst your players will ever determine that, no matter how good or bad you are as a head coach”, Rolle said. “Adam had a great impact on me during our years together here in Denver as my quarterbacks coach and then as offensive coordinator”. Manning said Gase is bright, eager and a hard worker. With more experience, Pederson could make a fine head coach, but, as of right now, he has a lot to learn. He asks a lot of questions and writes everything down.
