Adama Traore flies in for Aston Villa talks
It’s reported in Spain that Barcelona youngster Adama Traore has chosen Aston Villa from his Premier League suitors.
Villa are now looking to put the finishing touches to a three-year contract and Traore could even be unveiled before Villa’s Premier League game against Manchester United on Friday night.
The 19-year-old winger has been in England for the last week or so talking to interested clubs, with Liverpool seemingly in pole position.
If the move was to go ahead it would be an impressive capture for Tim Sherwood as the Spanish Under-19 global has been considering offers from Liverpool and Stoke as well as the Midlands club.
Meanwhile, the Potters could certainly not be ruled out of the running based on the number of former Barcelona players that have ended up at the Britannia Stadium in recent years, including Marc Muniesa, Bojan Krkic, and Ibrahim Afellay.
The boss had suggested he would target English players after raiding France for Jordan Veretout, Jordan Amavi and Jordan Ayew but instead Spaniard Traore is close to joining.
Sherwood seems keen to add a winger to his new-look Villa side and has been linked with moves for Andros Townsend and Aaron Lennon.
