Add Movie, TV Clips to Skype Chats With ‘Mojis’
But to add more character to messaging, Skype is bringing short clips from your favorite TV shows and movies. With Mojis, Skype’s newest feature, users can now send clips from television and films instead of a cumbersome rebus of hockey masks, daisies, ice skates, and lightning bolts.
GIF-like video clips from Despicable Me, The Muppets, Jurassic Park, Bridesmaids, Pitch perfect and more will be made available to include in Skype chat.
It is easy to send Mojis by just tapping the emoticon button or opening the emoticon picker.
The clips will be displayed on the bottom side of the Skype window and users can access them in the same way they do with regular emoticons.
You can easily find out where the Moji, you have selected has come from as each Moji is linked back to its source.
The update is available today for those using Skype on Windows, Mac, Android and iOS devices. From there, you can purchase or rent the entire movie or television show.
Microsoft is introducing a fun way to communicate through Skype.
Microsoft-owned voice call app’s technicians announced that mojis were designed to make the app an even more personal experience by granting users new ways of expressing themselves online. The Moji links users to the Microsoft Store, from where they can look up the movie or show and download it.
Says the company, it sifted through archives for bits of the craziest, funniest, and otherwise most memorable TV and movie moments for Mojis. The Android version of Skype 6.2 adds a new media bar, facilitating the transfer of things such as media files and location from within a chat.
Windows Phone 8 OS will not be in the list of platforms that support Skype Moji.
