Adele Clears Up Those Beyoncé Duet Rumors
Rumours circulated earlier this year that Adele had turned down Beyoncé’s invite to hit the studio together to work on a collaboration.
But Adele says that’s absolutely not true. I’ve never met her though, but I just think she… like stirs my soul. “I went to Glastonbury to watch Kanye”, she told Lowe, explaining her anxiety surrounding addressing a crowd of thousands. She doesn’t give time for things she doesn’t want to do and won’t get behind anything she doesn’t believe in: “That’s the thing, if I don’t care I won’t sing”.
She added: ‘I’m such a fan, oh my God’.
Oh well. We can dream, right?
Adele is rumored to have refused a collaboration request from none other than Beyonce herself. “Obviously, Queen Bey to the day I die”, she said.
Can you even imagine a duet between Adele and Beyoncé?
Hear a snippet of the interview below, which will run in full on Beats 1 on Wednesday.
Asked who she saw as her contemporaries, she named Lana Del Rey, Alabama Shakes’ frontwoman Brittany Howard, Tobias Jesso Jr, Drake, Chvrches and The Maccabees. “I used to [expletive] love the drama of all of it”.
“I just got really anxious that I was never going to make anything that anyone liked again”.
Of course it’s safe for Adele to address the Beyonce snub rumors now.
Adele and her team have been fighting to remove the leaks on the internet.
It’s an exciting time in Adele’s world!
Speaking about her new album, Adele confessed that she’s a lot more guarded now. Her album “25” is already complete and ready to drop so there is no worry that Beyonce would want her joint track featured on the upcoming release. The event was recorded, and will be called: Adele Live in NY City.
