Adele Open To Streaming Album In Future
Adele’s new album has already sold 2,433,000 albums just three days after its release, Billboard reported.
Henderson also told EW, “We know 25 will be one of the biggest albums this holiday season”.
In only a few days “25” sold more than 2.5 million copies, and “Hello” has been at the top of the charts since it was released a month ago.
The Guardian reports that Adele’s new album, “25” has broken records for its first-week sales.
“The statistics surrounding the album are staggering, topped by the simple fact that no album has ever sold 800,000 copies to reach number one in the history of British music”.
However, she claims the fans who haven’t already purchased 25 will “probably” get to hear it online in the near future.
The ‘N Sync first-week record has held strong for 15 years, and has always been considered unbreakable because music sales have dropped dramatically in succeeding years as consumers have shifted away from traditional sales to file-sharing and, more recently, to streaming services.
Meanwhile, Adele will embark on a rare United Kingdom and Ireland tour in 2016, it has been confirmed.
Adele, mother of one, also beat Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood” for most YouTube views as her smash hit Hello has garnered over 490 million views thus far.
On an average per day, the singer makes at least $70,000 – $20,000 more than what an average British worker can earn in 2015.
Adele’s Hello takes the third spot, followed by Bieber’s What Do You Mean? and Fleur East’s Sax.
The record is now expected to have sold over 3 million copies by the end of its first week on sale. Several of the band’s members gave Adele their stamp of approval, including Joey Fatone, 38, and JC Chasez, 39. The album passed the previous record holders Oasis and their 1997 album “Be Here Now” yesterday. A number of artists have had especially impressive years in terms of album sales although none of them are likely to have serious play for second place on the year-end list.
