Adele performs potential new single ‘When We Were Young’
However the singer’s fans are desperate to hear more of her new material, and it looks like they just got their wish. A preview of the song was released in a two minute and 37 second promo clip for her upcoming sit down with 60 Minutes Australia.
While singing the brand new song, Adele is clearly feeling the emotions of it all, as she sways to the beat and sticks one arm in the air, like the total diva that she is. From what we can garner, the song-co-written with Tobias Jesso Jr.-echoes familiar Adele themes of nostalgia and longing (“It was just like a movie / it was just like a song / when we were young”), replete with a trademark booming chorus.
Looks like we’ll be getting another single before Adele releases her long-awaited album, 25.
‘We were sad and getting old it made us so restless. Adele describes Jesso Jr.’s music as “romantic, with a ’70s vibe” and reveals how she became interested in Jesso Jr.’s music through his song “Hollywood”. That preview moved me’. ‘My love is deep and true with my man, and that puts me in a position where I can finally reach out a hand to the ex. Let him know I’m over it’.
