Adele’s Album Will Not Be On Streaming Sites
Decked out in facial prosthetics, Adele joined a handful of Adele impersonators who thought they were auditioning for a TV pilot – a prank cooked up by British TV personality Graham Norton.
It’s naturally an unfavorable development for Spotify, Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL), and any of the other premium streaming services still left standing, but it’s not as if Adele needs the digital exposure. “We hope that she will give those fans the opportunity to enjoy 25 on Spotify alongside 19 and 21very soon”, the company said in a statement.
Journalists who had access to the advanced copies, pulled out his critical side and said that while “25” would not have the same seminal experience as the one with the album “21”, fans would not disappointed on it. While the album’s ability to match the phenomenal 28 million worldwide albums sold may be in question, there’s no doubt that the past few years has done Adele some good and allowed her to craft a worthy follow-up to 21.
The singer made her surprise chart comeback last month (Oct15), when she dropped Hello, her first single since James Bond theme song Skyfall in 2012.
The singer has decided she will not release the album on streaming networks however and you will have to go and hand over your hard-earned cash for an album of heartbreaking ballads. It also cleaned up at the Grammys, taking home album of the year, among many other big awards, in 2012. Music purchases deliver more profit to the artist and the label than streaming services do. According to Billboard magazine, the new Adele album “25”, released by XL/Columbia, is expected to sell about 2.5 million copies in the United States in its first week. The internet introduced myriad ways to listen and own music – not all of them legal – but Adele’s soulful torch songs have buoyed her beyond the industry’s reduced expectations. I find a theme with the album already that it’s similar to 21 with a bit more maturity in the lyrics. “Obviously, like Queen Bey until the day I die”, Adele said.
Adele’s son “punishes” her when she spends too much time away from him. You know, actual physical items. Beyoncé withheld her last album, “Beyoncé”, from streaming for almost a year.
Not just Prem, but Adele is back; this time with all the musical consciousness of her glorious 25-year-old self. Sobbing fans of that school of songwriting that offers support to you, the listener, in your darkest moments-y’know, like “Bridge Over Troubled Water” or “You’ve Got a Friend”-will probably well up during “Remedy” (co-written with Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic)”.
“Increasingly many artists are releasing music in cadences, so that they can get the most financially out of their new material”, said Ms. Nauman, the consultant.
