Adele’s ‘Hello’ Breaks All Records This Weekend
“She is amusing and she’s just so down-to-earth….You can immediately relate to her and connect with her”, Kurstin said of Adele.
On Saturday we reported that Adele had smashed the 24-hour Vevo record, and it turns out that she broke the record with more viewers than we originally thought.
According to figures released by Vevo, a total of 27,717,671 viewers watched the video.
“Hello” is Adele’s first album single since releasing 2011’s “21”, her sophomore album that sold more than 11 million units in the United States and won the Grammy Award for album of the year, among other accolades. He is one-half of the indie duo The Bird and the Bee, who released its fourth album this year.
Adele released her video for her comeback single Hello just a few days ago but it’s already racked up over 70 million views.
UPDATE: “Hello” has already surpassed 750,000 digital downloads, meaning it will, officially, break the first-week sales record set by Flo Rida’s “Right Round” in 2009.
ADELE takes over first place from previous champion TAYLOR SWIFT, whose “Bad Blood” video scored 20.1 million views in its first 24 hours after its MAY 17th debut earlier this year.
It has been viewed over 71.2 million times, which means it could easily hit 100 million within its first seven days.
