Adele takes the Glastonbury stage for rousing 15-song headlining performance
Adele conquered her fear of Glastonbury, and got “the best moment of my life”.
The Hello singer has previously sworn to never play Glastonbury on account of the massive crowds, and told her audience she’d been bursting into tears for the last “two or three days”.
The London-born singer headlined the world-famous festival on Saturday night (25.06.16) and despite a warning from the BBC to keep her language in check, Adele still delivered an unusually high number of expletives during her acclaimed set, which featured 15 songs. Other notable moments included the live debut of “River Lea” and a cover of Bob Dylan’s “Make You Feel My Love”.
Adele’s self-deprecating sense of humor was also on full display throughout the set, as NME notes.
She explained to laughter from the audience, “It’s all that dancing, I’m not f****** used to it. I’d rather sing better for you”.
“That was the ideal time to f*** up a song”, she joked afterwards, before heading down to the barrier to take a fez hat off a fan and put it on. “I bet Muse didn’t get that”.
She shared: “The BBC had to give me a warning about my potty mouth”.
Salford comic Jason Manford voiced his love for Adele during her triumphant Glastonbury set. “I’ve always wanted to do this my whole life but I’ve been too scared”.
The star-stuck woman could barely speak or hold her phone long enough to take a selfie, making Adele step in. Were you watching? What did you think?
