Adele To Perform At Brit Awards 2016, Following Success Of Album ’25’
Adele will perform at the 2016 Brit Awards. In 2011 she gave an incredible performance of Someone Like You which has gone down in BRITs folklore as one of the most memorable performances in the awards history.
The 27-year-old singer is no stranger to the BRITs, having won three of the prestigious awards in previous years.
The “Hello” hitmaker – who made her triumphant return to the music industry this year after a four-year hiatus – will perform at the ceremony held at London’s O2 Arena on February 24.
Speaking about the announcement, Brits Chairman Max Lousada said: “You couldn’t get a bigger name in music right now”. She was handed the Critics’ Choice Award in 2008, as well as British Female Solo Artist and Brits Album in 2012 and British Single for Skyfall in 2013.
Adele, of course, has a close affinity with The BRITs having studied at the BRIT School in her teenage years – the performing arts academy that also spawned Amy Winehouse, Leona Lewis, Jessie J and Rizzle Kicks.
Should Adele win big, Brits bosses will be hoping her acceptance speech doesn’t go the way of 2012. More performers will be announced in the coming weeks.
On top of that, Adele is set to embark on her first tour in half a decade next year, with dates in the UK, Ireland and even North America.
